Ducks

Usually I show both the reflection and the thing reflected.  This time I thought the water carrying the reflection was the interesting thing.  I was taking pictures of gentle ripples jiggling a reflection when a raft of ducks paddled into the picture and made it even wilder.

You don't think a bunch of ducks is a "raft?"  Don't take my word for it!

These guys are always fun. Very nice shot Jack, beautiful light.

It is a good thing that you caught the photos of the ducks on the water rather than on land. Otherwise your raft would have become a safe, based on the obscure terms in the link you provided.

This reminds me. I 've had a hankering for a big bowl of clam chowder... quackers and all.

I love the patterns on the water, I love the "raft" of ducks but, what I love the most is that link to the dictionary. That was fun!

A raft of ducks: this is a very nice term to learn. I hope I will remember it. Great photo, by the way!

Great pattern... The colors are really beautiful too : it is quite hard to get so neat pictures with so little light, specially with duckies moving like that... Great challenge.
