Norfolk

Here are two fall photos from the northwest corner of the state.  The first photo is on Mountain Road in Norfolk.  I am a big fan of back-lighting in the fall, when the trees are changing colors.

This one is on a farm off Route 44, on the way into Norfolk.  This year the yellow foliage seemed to appear first.  I am just starting to see lots of orange and red in the past few days.

From Stonington to Norfolk...you certainly get around Jack!

I would also be a fan of back-lighting, but never get pictures like these!

Glorious colours, shades and shadows Jack. While Spring's beauty lies in the various blossoms emerging, Autumn with its rich tones appeals to me most. Thanks for sharing these lovely scenes.

I never tire of the country in Autumn. I can see why you like back lighting in Autumn, it does increase the drama and beauty.

Jack, you are correct about the beauty of the back light on the country road. That is a stunning image.

I agree with you about the backlighting. It makes the colorful trees just glow!

The mellow light is fabulous Jack...are you using a new lens or filter?

I"m a big fan of that top shot. That ziz zag wooden fence just leads the eye down the road, and you're right about the backlighting Jack. And for what it's worth, color was the best idea! HA

Iconic of New England in the fall. Looks like a lovely road to travel, unless, of course, it is the road less traveled!

Such beautiful landscapes, Jack. I am glad you find the time to show us. :)

It's wonderful that you were able to get out into the countryside to capture theses shots. The reds are just showing up in bits & drabs here too.

Love the back lighting and long shadows. Did you feel the earthquake?

Agreed -- backlighting trees with such beautiful foliage this time of year is nice. Looks like my kind of road.
