Out of the Jurisdiction: Lion in Motswari

This young lion was one of three standing 10 yards feet from our vehicle.  They spotted four warthogs and took off out of sight.

Last week we were in the Motswari game preserve at the northeastern corner of South Africa, adjoining the Kruger National Park.

This is a great photo. Lions were among the more elusive creatures on our Tanzania photo safari, not coming into very close range.

An amazingly beautiful creature. I've been in preserves twice in South Africa, saw lots of warthogs, giraffes, elephants but never a lion! You are a lucky man!!

What a dream to go on safari. And to bag a lion (metaphorically speaking of course) seems quite a coup.

10-yards away?! Holy cow...er...lion! How exciting for you. Wonderful capture. Shoot early and often (photos, of course).

Beautiful photo! I'd hate to this big cat looking at me like I was a warthog...

What a beautiful, healthy-looking big cat. Not sure whether he was 10 feet or 10 yards away from your vehicle, but either way, that's a close encounter! Bet your pulse was racing!! Thanks for sharing.
