A. C. Petersen

A. C. Petersen is an old dairy on Park Road.  It is so much better eating ice cream at a local place instead of a chain restaurant.

I agree, although I used to work at a Baskin-Robbins in high school.

i got a kick out of your comment on Julie's blog yesterday about the CEO drummer. We have a good friend who is the retired CEO of our local natural gas utility who played rock guitar when he was young, although today I think he has more of a collection of guitars on display in his house than actually using the guitars to continue to play.

I so agree Jack, the icecream always seems to taste much creamier. We have one down Margaret River way and it is so popular for exactly that reason.

I couldn't agree more. I have fond memories of a local dairy where I grew up. They old fashioned soda fountain was a favorite spot for a bit of ice cream.

I do agree about the ice cream; and what a fun, colorful cow! I love it! Fun shots for the day! Hope your week is going well!

It's a cutest cow I've ever seen! Even nicer than the Milka's purple one:)

I can't understand anyone who'd rather eat the chemical stuff than real local dairy ice-cream.

A painted cow in front of a dairy makes some sort of sense. But the best ice cream in the world come from the little dairy in Texas - Blue Bell ice cream. Can't be beat! Sorry, A.C. Petersen.

I'm with you. However, I think that cow needs some exercise.

Two bits of trivia(l) info: Even though Petersen's no longer makes their own ice cream, they still serve locally made (Guida's). The cow was part of the 2007 Cow Parade, which was West Hartford's second parade. It's the smallest town to get a parade, never mind a second one! (There's reportedly a local connection to the operation)

And Guida's has their own cow, too. The first parade's "Cover Cow" as a matter of fact.
