Cloud 9

Maple Avenue, Hartford

Here is a change of pace.  It is a simple one, shown just because I like the contrast between old and new.

Nice facade- the Cloud Nine sign makes for an interesting shot! Thanks for your kind comments, Jack.

all you folks without power for over a week are definitely not on cloud 9.

I bet the designer of this historic building would not be on Cloud 9 if he saw this!

Nicola Motto would be surprised.

I like it, too, but did you get dizzy taking this one? That's what I'm wondering.

Nice contrast.

Very nice Jack. Are you back home?

Who (or what) is Nicola Motto? I just googled him and his building. Interesting man!!

I like how they have placed the sign. It's contrasting but it doesn't 'hurt' the old building.

Contrasts are always interesting... at least for me.

Love it! The graphics of the sign are really well done.

Just what I like more: a funny sign with a sober background!

Probably a few people on cloud 9 since their lights are back on.

Look at that! That's where I need to go. I need a cloud nine (wonder why it's cloud seven in German, lol?)

It is a fun mix of new and old, though I prefer the old.

Hmmm. Well, for sure the sign is easy to read.

Definitely a contrast. Love the stone work at the top and bottom of the windows and the balconies. The details at the top also look to be well tended. Cloud 9 does throw out a curve.

I could use a Cloud 9 too! :)

Hmmm.....the question must asked: How did this happen?! Cloud 9 needs to blow away. It really just seems out of place.

Nice contrast. I love old buildings.

Indeed a nice contrast, «Louis» preferring the older part...

Love it! Old and new sometimes fit so perfectly!
