Out of the Jurisdiction: Squam Lake

We visited Squam Lake in New Hampshire two weeks ago.  Daughter Susie is getting married next year.  She wants an outdoor wedding at the place we vacationed when she was a teenager.

I think it will work.  What do you think?

Looks like a lovely setting! Will the bride and her father arrive in a canoe at the dock during the processional?

It looks like an idyllic spot for a wedding, and everyone will enjoying being away for the weekend. It also reflects well on her family memories from growing up.

Yeah, especially if you want to tell someone in the wedding party to go jump in the lake!
Where did you stay? You probably know that's the lake Golden Pond was filmed on.

If this is the place, she is absolutely right!

What a wonderful setting!
I'd be dead scared of an outdoor location in case the weather goes wrong, but perhaps you can count on good weather if she marries in summer.

Plan it! (and a backup plan in case you get a rare hurricane!)

This is a beautiful setting, Jack.

Oh what a backdrop for wedding photo's, as long as it's not one of those, 'just a bit to the left, now to the right....splash!!' situations. No seriously Jack, your daughter has style, it looks idyllic.

Oh my goodness. I spent two summers on Little Squam Lake when I was a teenager. I'm pretty sure our paths have crossed, Jack!

Nothing like the fresh water lakes up north. Nothing. Glad Dad is into the wedding planning! What an exciting year you have ahead of you. The official wedding photographer should be nervous!

Oh, yes! It will work! So pretty! Have y'all chosen a photographer yet? Has Susie been reading wedding blogs. My very favorite one is "Style Me Pretty". They have a ton of outdoor weddings on there and she will find a lot of great ideas. I hope that you will share some of the wedding photos. I am so excited for y'all. This venue will be so special and beautiful. I can just image them out in that green canoe in their wedding clothes. So fun!
