Bird House

This is a spectacular property on the main street in Essex, but what really captures my attention is
the huge bird house in the walkway leading up to the house.

Wonderful house. It is strange they keep it just in front of the house. Or is it normal?

Looks like a Purple Martin house. The architecture blends beautifully with the house itself. Great stone fence and gate with marvelous landscaping. Of all the outstanding houses you have posted, I think I'd like this one the best; I could live here! Are the "doors" of the birdhouse painted red as the residence?

Oh yes Jack, I can see that birdhouse full of cooing doves for some reason, I like it a lot, makes a change from the usual 'fountain' out front!!

The whole place is quite magnificent. That stone wall, the gate, the hedges and trees and yard...but the little house is for the birds!

Must be really hot up thataway for your mind to melt! Stick your head in the freezer for awhile...OK?

I just had to visit so I could tell you personally I'm still laughing over the comment you left at Birdman's place about the average lifetime consumption of beer!

This is a beautiful property, I would have a birdhouse elsewhere on the grounds, they do create such a mess. I am a bird feeder and love to watch them. Maybe Martins are different. Birdman would be a good house guest...

Wow! The bird house is fancier than the house! What an interesting place. It is kind of strange to see such a plain, Puritan looking house with an Elizabethan boxwood hedge.

That is a great house! I love the yard.

The birds in that house must be trust fund hatchlings.

Fantastic! I wonder how many tenants there are. :-)

I wonder if there are purple martins living in that birdhouse, I love the stone wall.

I was wondering the same thing as JM! That's some condo! I also love the stone wall! Terrific capture as always, Jack! I do enjoy being able to wander around your part of the world through your photos! Thanks!! Hope your weekend is going well!

A sweet house for sure. And that birdhouse is almost as big;)
At least you know they treat their guests well....

Elegant and yet very welcoming, comfortable. Great birdhouse, but for purple martins it should be twice as high.
