Bandstand

Every New England town used to have a "green" or "commons," where the cows grazed and the townspeople met.  I read recently that there is only one Connecticut commons where agriculture is still actively practiced.

This is the bandstand on Canton's town green.  There is no agriculture here.  A busy state highway runs to the right of the commons.

I think that 'green' looks perfect Jack, I should imagine it will be packed on the 4th. Have a great celebration.

Enchanting scene! Take away the eletric wires and you could be transported a century ago. Just lovely!

I love all of the green. Such a contrast to our area right now.

I like how the shrubs enbrace the gazebo. Lovely.

I believe that when I think of a slice of Americana this image would come to mind... perfect little church in yellow in the background and patriotic bunting graces the gazebo. I can hear Stars and Stripes in the background.
